The photos of the turquoise beach are a summer picture. From May to October a swim is realistic. June, July and August are when the beach, the restaurants and the boats are full. Book the morning boat ahead in those months. The water stays cold even then.
The car ferry between Koman and Fierza runs from April to November, 09:00 toward Fierza and 13:00 back. Outside those months, ask before you plan a car crossing or a Valbona connection. In spring and autumn the reservoir can sit lower. The swim boat still leaves. Some weeks the last 300–400 metres to the usual Shala beach are on foot along the bank.
